Head Professor Valerio Ubaldini leads instruction at Gracie Barra Denver with a focus on clear technique, individual progress, and a strong academy culture.

His mentor, Professor Jefferson Moura, is a sixth-degree black belt from Rio de Janeiro and a World, Brazilian, Pan-American, and European champion. Their connection reflects the technical standard and tradition behind every class.

Gracie Barra instructors complete the Instructor Certification Program, helping them communicate clearly, recognize individual challenges, and guide students with confidence.

What to know before your first day on the mats.

No. Training helps you develop cardio, strength, coordination, and mobility over time. Fundamentals classes are designed for beginners starting at their current fitness level.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring water. The school can provide guidance about a loaner Gi before your visit. Shoes stay off the mats.
No. Beginners first learn positions, movement, and technique in a controlled setting. Your instructor will explain when live training is appropriate.
Youth programs serve children and teens with age-appropriate coaching. Contact the academy so the team can recommend the best class for your child’s age and experience.
